I work here. I built the app for this floor.

I'm a picker on this floor. In my own time I built an app that does the picking list for me and fixes what shift leaders and the office both complain about. It replaces paper, runs on any phone, and I use it every shift.

Not a favor for one person

I built a fix. I want to bring it in properly.

I use this every shift because it solves my own problem. It also fixes what I keep hearing from shift leaders and the office. This isn't a quiet ask to one contact. I want to show it to anyone here who can help bring it in the right way.

For the floor

Faster picks, exact shortfalls caught on the spot, no paper to carry or lose.

Orders and totals arrive already counted. Fewer calls asking where an order went.

For the numbers

Cleaner data, fewer mistakes, less time spent chasing what went wrong.

I built this to fix my own shift. It turned out to help the office and the numbers too. That's why I want more than one person to see it.
The question I expect first

“You already have a system.” So why build another one?

It's a fair question. Some of your ready gear already sits unused somewhere on this floor. Here's the honest reason it isn't running here yet, and why mine can start today.

It needs a settled floor

A voice system only works when every product sits in a fixed spot with a code on the shelf. This unit still changes every week, so it can't go in yet.

It needs gear and setup

Switching it on means re-slotting shelves, printing codes, handing out headsets, and training everyone. That takes time and money before the first pick, which is why it's still sitting in the box.

Nobody owns the data

It was set up long ago and largely left alone. Even the office isn't sure how its data is handled or where it ends up. You can't improve what you can't see.

This isn't a knock on those systems. They work well in a big, settled warehouse. They're just not ready for this floor. Mine is, today, on phones you already have, built by someone who works right here.

Industry figures: bought-in systems run thousands per picker plus licence and setup, take three to six months, and more than half hit serious delays or only partly work. Picker reuses the phones you already carry, and the four-week trial costs you nothing.

None of this is new to you.

"Why has nobody taken the small orders?"
"Why is wave 11 still sitting here when the next wave already came?"
"Did everyone write down the exact number of zeros?"
"Did everyone log their hours, every order, and add up the total?"
"Why are we still working off paper? It's so slow."

The first four I hear from the shift leader. The last one comes from the people working next to me. It all comes back to paper. Picker takes the paper out.

Nobody wants the small orders.

Everyone grabs the big orders, around 300 items. The 5-, 10-, 30-item ones sit on the table while the next wave arrives. The shift leader points at them, shift after shift.

The waves fall out of order.

Orders arrive in waves: 11, then 12, then 13. The next wave lands before the last one's done, and the shift leader can't watch fifteen people at once. A fresh wave gets picked first while an earlier one sits half-finished on someone's forklift.

The fix that matters most

The app gives out the next order in line.

First in line, first out, sent straight to the phone. No one can grab only the big orders, and no wave gets left behind. Everyone gets the next order, in the right order, and the leader doesn't have to watch fifteen people at once.

Honest about today: right now I start a list by scanning the paper with the phone's camera. That's the early version I built for myself. The real fix is this queue: once the orders come straight from your system, the paper and the scanning are gone for good.

You can also allow two or three skips for a little flexibility. That's your call.

Mine vs a bought-in system: this fix needs no new gear and no shelf codes. Getting the same from a bought system means full integration and months of setup.

How it works on the floor

Same job. No paper.

Nothing changes about how you pick. The phone replaces the paper list on the forklift. Nobody walks around staring at a screen. You mark what you took, the same as on paper, only about twice as fast.

With one earbud

It reads out each spot in your ear, and one click means "taken". One earbud is allowed. Another team here already picks by voice with a single earbud, so it breaks no rules.

No headphones

No earbud? Just glance at the phone and tap what you took. Nothing to listen to, nothing extra to carry.

Mine vs voice gear: their headsets only talk. You can't see the order, and you repeat a check code until it hears you. Mine shows the whole order at a glance, in one place, with no special equipment and nothing to set up on the shelves.

Counting the zeros

Took less? One tap.

Took 10 instead of 20? Shelf empty, a zero? One tap, type the real number. The app writes down the exact amount missing, right then.

That's the count the office needs for next week's order, recorded exactly every time instead of guessed from a stack of paper.

Clean numbers, in real time

Every order and count, exact, live.

Today everyone also fills in a paper by hand: every order, every amount, then the total. One slip makes the bonus wrong. The app records it all as you go and adds it up for you. The office sees exactly who picked what, live. Nothing to type in later, nothing to lose.

It pushes the pickers too. You watch your own total climb and see how close you are to the bonus, like a game, in real time. Watching the progress makes you want to do more.

New people

A lower bar to get started.

New people still need the warehouse explained. That part doesn't go away. But the app makes starting easier: the steps and the answers to the usual questions live in one place, right on the phone. Shifts change constantly, day, evening, night, so new faces show up every week.

The how-to and the answers new people always ask for sit inside the app. They don't have to track someone down every time.

Fewer mistakes, fewer questions

The screen shows what to do next and does the counting for them, so new people slip up less, ask less, and settle in faster.

Mine vs voice gear: voice systems struggle with accents, other languages and warehouse noise. New people fight just to be understood. Mine is visual and speaks Danish, English and Ukrainian, so anyone gets going faster.

The unit is still taking shape. Nothing's locked in yet. A bought-in system needs order before it can run; mine works in the mess and helps you bring order while you build the floor. Setting the process right now is far cheaper than retraining a settled team a year from now.
